What’s On in October and November.

October is looking busy – much as September has been! C-Art is over – a successful exhibition at Mrs Millers Cafe, Culgaith.

I am currently enjoying teaching at Higham Hall – “Art Journals – Express, embellish, Experiment” (a six-week course will be available shortly at Morland) and look forward to the following:

Artists on Art

at

The Wordworth Museum

2 – 4.30pm

Taking a closer look at the paintings on display in the current watercolour exhibition in the company of myself and another painter, Alison Critchlow. We will offer our own perspectives on the pictures in the exhibition, discussing the techniques and materials used, as well as considering the broader themes and significance of the collection. This will be followed by an open conversation about our own creative process which we will illustrate with some examples of our own work.

This afternoon session brings an informal look at the tradition of landscape painting, where it started and how it looks today. There will be ample opportunity for questions and conversation.

Cost: £5

‘The Art of Being is organised by Dr Anita Herdeiro and her husband Bruno, experts in challenging traditional approaches to ageing.  “We will be showcasing arts and activities which can contribute to health and well-being,” said Dr Herdeiro.

“We want to show doing things that are fun, and being mindful of whatever we interact with contributes positively to our health in mind and body. There is research to support how art can contribute to our physical and mental wellbeing , which will be discussed at the event.’

      Hullo Lisa,
I am sorry if it isn’t clear – I thought I had stated where each course or workshop was being held.
I hold these courses in Cumbria at different venues. I will also travel to hold courses elsewhere. If there is some thing you are interested in – please let me know 🙂
